Paravertebral Blocks:

The techniques of placing paravertebral blocks are demonstrated and practiced. This is done with the loss of resistance to air technique and with the aid of the nerve stimulator. Paravertebral blocks with and without catheter placement are done over the total length of the vertebral column. An example where the lumbar plexus is stimulated via the catheter is the psoas compartment block. This block and its landmarks are similar for pigs and humans.
